THE ROCK: Who is Ryan Mack, tell us something about you?
Ryan Mack: Ryan Mack graduated from the University of Michigan Business School (ranked number one in the country) with a concentration in Finance. His career in equity markets began in Detroit, Michigan as a stock trader and later as a trader for the largest NASDAQ trading firm in the nation, Knight Securities. Having a passion for teaching he established his own financial awareness group in 2003 where he began to publish regular newsletters about various financial related issues that were of interest to people from all income levels.

Having had the opportunity to continue his career with several of the nation’s largest and most prestigious financial planning firms, Mr. Mack believed there was an industry void relative to providing advice and services to a broader spectrum of individuals. He saw a need to provide personal attention and elevated client service to all individuals of all income levels and not solely the high net-worth clientele. This prompted him to establish his own financial planning firm, Optimum Capital Management, LLC. He has achieved two licenses of insurance, a certification that enables him to give investment advice (Series 66), and is registered in the states of New York, Michigan, Ohio and California. He is often invited to speak within the community where he emphasizes the importance of developing a responsible investment plan which leads to financial independence. With a clientele representative of all income levels, through Optimum Capital Management, Mr. Mack continues to teach the merits of sound budget management and smart investing for all people.

THE ROCK:: Where are you from, and currently residing?
Ryan Mack: I am from Detroit, Michigan. I am currently residing in Brooklyn, New York.

THE ROCK: Could you give us your job title and a short description of your responsibilities?
Ryan Mack: I am President of Optimum Capital Management. What is Optimum Capital Management? Optimum is a company established because the financial planning industry has long been neglecting the need for financial education in the community. As a company we instill principles of accountability and responsibility within a community plagued by high consumption and debt levels. Optimum Capital Management is committed to providing highly-skilled, full-service financial planning in the most cost efficient means for our clients. While we are a for-profit company with a significant clientele, we are committed to the needs of the community.

Optimum Capital Management recognizes the tasks to be accomplished. There are many factors that account for the economic and social status of African-Americans, some of which are not directly within our control to resolve. These issues must be addressed but not at the expense of neglecting the need for financial awareness within the community. How can we demand increased government funding for economic development when we are still spending 93% of our money outside our own communities? "The Black dollar turns over less then once on average before it leaves the community. Asians turn over their money nine times in their communities, and Whites turn their money over eight times before it leaves."

(Taking Care of Business – Lee Jenkins) How can we get upset at the government for the lack of support when we aren’t supporting ourselves?

Sixty percent of America is spending more money than they are earning per month (The Millionaire Next Door). The fact is that consumption!is within our control. Your FICO score, your debt levels, your consumption levels, and your insurance coverage are all within your control.

THE ROCK: How long have you been doing this type of work?
Ryan Mack: This is my third year of serving as President within this firm.

THE ROCK: Are you experiencing job fulfillment, and what type of gratification do you get at the end of the day?
Ryan Mack: I will be doing this work for the remainder of my years.

Ryan Mack: I attended the University of Michigan Business School and graduated with a BBA with a concentration in Finance.
