The
Dime Piece
We
men had titles for ladies that we thought were fine.
I know a lot of people remember and know what I’m
talking about. We used to call them cuties, shortys,
honeys, buns, and hotties, but the thing is these cute
labels were short lived and didn’t stick well.
There is one title however, that did fit, has outlasted
all the other descriptors and has been working to describe
a fine woman for years. Brothers use the social adjective;
dime piece. When we call a woman a dime or dime piece,
it’s delineation of perfection – the flawless
woman in one to two words. A dime is the perfect ten;
it gets no explanatory than that. This term is universal.
The spin off from the "dime piece", is a twenty
piece or a "dub". The dub is fine also, but
she is the complete package – I’m talking
money, career, looks and a body. The dub is so fine,
so complete until she doesn’t even rate on the
1 to 10 scale.
Lately I heard this woman refer to herself as Susan
B, more or less referring to herself as a 50 cent piece.
The sister wasn’t being vain but in fact used
this term to accentuate her self-worth. She has her
weight up. I kind of felt this and could correlate this
term to the hard working corporate mommas, the hard
grinding women hungry for success, the woman that is
about having something big. Fact is that there are a
lot of women working in suits, and they are making it.
Another fact of the matter is that the woman is not
the corporate face; the man is the corporate face. There
is little demand for females in this man’s world.
Many corporate owners complain that women are still
not as insistent as they could be. Some owners also
say that some women don’t manage as effectively
as a man would, they say that the female allows emotions
to affect decision making. Made decisions should be
sound and unbiased. Many of the big bosses have problems
hiring single mothers fearing that childcare issues
will arise which will take from the company’s
needs.
I
disagree with the earlier proclamation concerning decision-making.
We have to remember that a lot of these women are mothers
and have to make unbiased decisions that effect people’s
lives daily, but it’s too bad that some of the
corporate big wigs fail to see things this way. Women
face many obstacles and are forced to make sacrifices
that directly affect their families if they want to
achieve financial success, so it’s no surprise
that the successful women in this game hire nannies
and au pairs. These alternatives can be rather costly,
so for this reason several females are leaning towards
home schooling for their children so they can work from
home.
Home
based businesses could be the way to go. There are several
sources that enable smart business minds to get their
start. Earning affluent income by working from home
is not easy, but many of the honeys, cuties, and buns
are so good at until they make it look easy, and that
is what makes them dubs. In fact, today black females
make up 44% more of the entrepreneurial population than
in 1996. If you look at the real estate market you will
find that many single sisters are not only property
owners but are real estate agents as well. Real estate
is the one investment cornerstone that still proves
to be lucrative and the ladies got a piece of that also,
so to that I say, "Go ahead Susan B.!" Women
prove their weight in the business sector.
